The 2012 Engineers in Action FAST raised almost $30,000! Thank you to everyone who contributed and fasted with us!  If you are still interested in contributing, please go here.

Engineers in Action Board Members, Friends and Family Fasted For 36 Hours From October 20th at 9:00pm to October 22nd at 9:00am

We know that we can reduce infant mortality, provide better health, and increase crop production, reducing hunger by providing communities with clean water and sanitation. Extreme poverty and lack of access to clean water and sanitation can be eliminatedfrom our world!

In solidarity with our sisters and brothers who live in extreme poverty, we are putting ourselves in the shoes of someone who is hungry, really hungry, by fasting for 36 hours and drinking only tap water, for 36 hours.

We’re seeking sponsors who’ll donate $1, $3, $5 $10 or more an hour, for those 36 hours, (or a one time amount) towards the work of Engineers In Action.

To donate to one of our Fasters, please go here.

Suncallo Has Water!

Posted on: July 6, 2011

This past month Colorado Springs EWB worked in Suncallo to build a water tank and connect to a distribution system…one that crossed a ravine!  Engineers In Action was on-site in the weeks after the team left to help finish construction.

Successful Month!

Posted on: June 7, 2011

Whew! This past month has been super busy for Engineers In Action. We’ve had several teams come to visit – University of Tulsa, Missouri Science & Technology, University of Oklahoma, Norman Rotary, St. Francis, and Colorado Springs! We are so lucky to have such passionate, hard-working, and inspiring teams come to Bolivia to help!

Matching Donation – up to $5,000!

Posted on: April 18, 2011

EIA has had a generous donor offer to match all donations up to $5,000 until May 15, 2011.  Help us get the full match by donating today at www.engineersinaction.org. Your $50 will turn into $100 and your $100 will turn into $200! It will make a HUGE difference in the lives of Bolivians, like the little girl in the picture. She lives in San Antonio de Lomerio where they have to walk long distances each day to get clean water. By donating today, this little girl is one step closer to clean water in her own town.

A Bolivian in Italy – Supporting EIA projects through Italian cuisine

A Bolivian in Italy - A wine dinner to support EIA

“I believe in helping people who don’t have anything. We take things so much for granted here. Even clean water is a luxury that must be appreciated.”
— Angelo Amabile, owner, Piatto

Join us on May 2 for a wine dinner that combines the taste of Italy and the culture of Bolivia. Enjoy a full four-course meal while giving your support to EIA’s continued work in Bolivia.

Watch: Chiquitano Safe Water Project

Half the proceeds from this dinner go to supporting EIA’s operations and civil engineering projects in Bolivia. From clean, potable water to irrigation systems to eco-latrines, these projects have saved the lives of some and given others a chance for a healthier life.

Taking Care of Dirty Business

Posted on: March 29, 2011

Recently Marcos, EIA project manager, and Jacob, EIA intern, traveled all over the country side to check up on MST’s and OK East’s eco-latrines (composting toilets).

It’s important that each community have a designated person(s) to help keep the eco-latrine program going. In Cotani they are fortunate to have Elisa, a nurse, and Basilio, the mason. Check out the YouTube video to hear directly from Cotani’s Mason.

One family that EIA helped is the family of Juan Robles. They are potato farmers and masons and have two children in the family. Check out the video and see how great the family is doing using their latrine!  Here is  Juan’s Latrine.
