Felipe Vasquez is an Environmental and Development engineer graduated in the Zamorano Pan-American Agricultural School based in Honduras. After finishing his undergraduate studies he went back to Ecuador and started working with farmers in the production of yellow dragon fruit (Selenicereus megalanthus), located in the Amazon region.
He understands that many people face a difficult life in rural communities in his home country. He likes to work on the empowerment of the people and communities using their local resources and knowledge to improve their quality of life.
He is interested how water linked to social aspects that why he decides to join Engineers in Action. Additional to this, he is currently working in his master’s thesis in Watershed Management in the Tropical Agronomic Center of Investigation and Education (CATIE).
Felipe likes to travel; outdoor activities like rock climbing and mountain climbing.
