Joe Williams has been a communications and fundraising professional in Northeast Oklahoma for over ten years. Formerly with Gatesway Foundation, Joe lead the day to day messaging of the organization, maintained the agency website and social media accounts, handled press inquiries, as well as created collateral material for fundraising and marketing. Joe also secured funding for programs and events, including individual and corporate donors, grants, and events like the annual Gatesway Balloon Festival, which attracts nearly 40,000 visitors as well as the BigBASH Gala, a biannual black tie event that benefitted agency programs.
Joe grew up in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, and attended the University of Tulsa. Before working with Gatesway, he served as Development and Marketing Director for the OK Mozart music festival, implemented the Rural Outreach Program and served as Marketing and Development Director for HOPE Testing, an agency focused on testing and prevention of HIV and Hepatitis C. Joe also served as Communications and Development Coordinator for Hospice of Green Country, northeast Oklahoma’s only United Way supported, multi-cultural, multi-faith, non-profit hospice. Previously, Joe worked for the Tulsa World and Urban Tulsa Weekly.
