Patapatani – Potable water and eco latrines – 70 families

Expected initial investment in materials is around $30,000

EWB-Norwich University did its Assessment trip in January of 2009. The Patapatani Municipality is a large area composed of five communities, the largest being Patapatani. The communities are located at different altitudes and all want potable water.

EWB-Norwich is going to begin with a design and developing potable water for Patapatani itself. Once that is completed, it may lead to similar projects in the area. EWB-Norwich is also interested in developing micro hydroelectric plants for small communities.

At the moment we are discussing about the feasibility of working in the community of Patapatani. The micro hydroelectric plant could provide the power for pumps for irrigation, as well as electricity for homes and businesses. EWB-Norwich will be back for its Construction phase in the Summer of 2009.
